This series of photographs (partly shown here) was taken during one of the many strikes in Paris.
For a moment the calm and romantic atmosphere that characterizes Paris was disrupted,
changing the city into a huge garbage dump.
By zooming in on the sculptural materiality of all this waste,
an almost painterly quality reveals itself in the photo’s.
The contrast between social unrest and symbols of consumerism and luxury brands
creates a graphic game, revealing the banality of everyday life.
